Meet Bradley of Crossip

Our founder, Carl Anthony Brown [pictured], is an industry and media renowned cocktail expert and has been perfecting the ultimate sensory experience with a non-alcoholic drink for 5 years now. It was Carl’s dedication to sport and a requirement to be at peak physical form, combined with this passion for great tasting cocktails, that inspired him to create a spirit base for cocktails and simple drinks that didn’t come with the negative connotations of alcohol, but still contained all the positive sensory excitements and flavours that alcohol does. He literally locked himself in a dark room at times, trialling different spices, botanicals, and flavours to optimise a taste with deep layers and an element of sophistication. It was the combination of getting to a finishing point with this, and meeting his two co-founders Tim Blake and Brad Jones, that sprung Crossip into life. 

Our production process is completely in house. We source natural, botanical ingredients from trusted suppliers and extract the flavours, colours and aromas using our unique and proprietary maceration process. We then filter and blend these to create the finished liquid of Crossip. We are a SALSA (Safe And Local Supplier Approval) approved supplier. 

The biggest challenge for us had to be building out our own in-house production. From the ground up, it is completely unique, maceration tanks, filtering systems, mixing systems and all done with pristine care and diligence to health and safety regulations. We’re really proud of what we have built. We launched in November 2020, right in the midst of the Covid pandemic. It meant that we had to adopt our sales strategy to focus on e-commerce a little more. Even afterward, the bars and restaurants took time to get back on their feet. 

Whether it be a mid-week tipple, you are pregnant or simply just don’t drink, for whatever reason you aren’t drinking alcohol, Crossip is there to give you an option that still has the depth, texture, mouthfeel and sophistication of alcohol. A cocktail or simple mixer made with Crossip can be bitter, sharp, have a kick and really give you a sense of substance in your drink!

Wind in my hair, sand in my toes and something cold and bubbly. 

Two truths and a lie about yourself and / or your business?
A. Crossip has won awards for its innovative use of flavour and texture. 
B. Crossip is completely non-alcoholic. No alcohol is used anywhere in the production (even the cleaning!) 
C. All 3 of the founders hold world records. 

What’s the strangest dish someone has used your products for? Have you tried it?
A seafood restaurant on the east coast utilized the Dandy in a bloody mary style dressing with confit tomatoes, spice and citrus. It added a smoky complexity which complimented the oysters magnificently.
